The Story
For over 20 years, I walked into boardrooms, strategy sessions and executive meetings, and I made other people's visions look brilliant. I knew exactly what to say, how to position it, who to call, and how to make a company look like the most important player in the room even when it wasn't.
I was good at it. Really good.
But here's what I never said out loud.
Every single time I helped someone else build their brand, I went home to mine. And mine was nothing. No presence. No positioning. No story the world could see. Just a résumé and a quiet knowing that I was worth more than what I was showing.
Then I, along with my husband, invested our own money in a dear friend’s new restaurant.
I got them on the cover of Atlanta Magazine. Best of ATL 2024. A 118% increase in monthly sales in eight months. Real results. Real proof.
And one night, a couple of years later — sitting at my dining room table doing payroll at midnight (yes, as a very small business owner, you wear many hats) with a master's degree from Syracuse and two decades of marketing behind me — I finally asked myself the question I'd been avoiding.
Why am I so good at making everyone else impossible to ignore... and so invisible myself?
The answer wasn't comfortable.
It was because I'd been waiting for permission. Waiting until I had more time, a better logo, a perfect plan. Waiting until it felt safe to be seen.
I stopped waiting.
With Hawke is what happened when I finally stopped waiting.
And, if any part of that story sounds familiar — I think you already know why you're here.
